Help CenterBudget and expenses

How do I build my budget?

You set how much you have in total and OPHIRA splits it across categories — venue, catering, photography, music, decor and the rest — with a reference range from the Mexican market for each one. Inside every category you log real expenses and the payments you've already made.

A budget has three layers, and it helps to keep them apart: what you plan to spend, what you've already committed to a vendor, and what you've already paid.

Start with the total

Put in the number you actually have, not the one you'd like. OPHIRA splits that total across the categories and shows you how much you've allocated so far.

The reference ranges

Every system category comes with a reference range from the Mexican market — the venue alone, for example, usually takes between 15% and 25% of the total. It's orientation, not a rule: if your wedding is in your family's garden, your split will look different, and that's fine.

Expenses and payments

Inside each category you log the specific expenses and, on top of each expense, the payments you make. That's how you tell "I've closed with the photographer for $40,000" apart from "I've paid the $12,000 deposit" — which are not the same thing.
